Mistakes are made in every profession. It’s just a fact of life. Especially when you have a split second to make a decision. If you participate in criminal behavior your odds of police interactions increase tenfold. If you fall to obey a lawful order your chances of injury increase tenfold as well.
I dont want to hamstring officers at all. I dont send anyone. They sign up and train knowing full well what they are doing to themselves. Dad was a Marine, Grandpa in the Army. Got Cousins as Sheriffs, and support all of them as much as humanly possible.

I do believe mistakes are made all over the place, and I also agree if you fail to obey the orders of a Policeman, you are asking for trouble that MAY not be there if you were to just do as told.

I have also said many times that I think it ridiculous to throw all these names around together, and act like they are the same thing. I think its ridiculous to blame anything on one party, while failing to recognize that each scenario involves a lot of moving parts.

I usually can call someone I know that is close and find some out. Taylor I knew was involved in criminal activity and made money that way, Blake I knew about the knife and felt he Officer that did end up shooting him put himself at too much risk for harm. Don’t grab or engage anyone with a edged weapon. Why the DA and City Management do not put out early facts needs to change. Why does stuff that needs to be out have to be leaked weeks and sometimes months later. Most of these leaks will come from Officers but they have to do it in a way that protects their identity as it is actually illegal in most circumstances and probably always at least a department termination
Thats BS. They should be considered whistleblowers and be protected. But I guess that's only for political crap that doesn't make Dems look bad.

I am actually surprised the story from Lafayette earlier this week did not make the national news. If it did, I missed it. It was similar to this incident.

Police received calls about a black man armed with a knife at a convenient store threatening customers. Police show up, and he fails to follow lawful orders. Gets tazed multiple times and every one fails because he is high on something. He tries to go back into the store with innocent people inside, still carrying a knife, and (7) officers fire killing him. There has been "protests" every single day since then with the exception of last night when Laura made landfall. Mobs of people blocking highway 90 and multiple other roads and neighborhoods in Lafayette. They are asking for trouble by acting a fool down there.

In totally against racism in every form. I don't think the color of skin should be how a person is judged. Now a persons character and actions are totally legit. Forget what color that guy is. His character is total scum of the Earth rapist bas ****. Shooting was totally justified based on his actions. In my opinion its a shame he's alive. Anyone that makes a hero out of this piece of crap of humanity is also a piece if crap of humanity. Nothing to do with color of skin. Much to do with character

Really wished you wouldn't mince your words so much.

From what I can decipher, I agree with you.
