What is unbelievable that how easily some folks are willing to **** away their constitutional rights. Once they are lost they are gone.

Many folks in here need a serious education. This is downright freaking scary.

All it takes is a call reporting suspicious activity=investigation. No thanks.

I'm legitimately scared and concerned about the number of "conservatives" who are supporting this "no-fly list" policy. When I was talking to one today, I brought up due process and asked him if he knew what it took to get on the list or off of it. Silence.....followed by realization that this is bad!!!!

I'm more concerned that this list exists. They just tipped their hand.....this man's that they are, and have been, keeping records of gun purchases.

I'm not sure about the terrorist list, but the no fly list is so stupid simple to get on it'll make your head spin. I knew a guy who was going on a business trip back well before 9-11 and made a stupid joke with the airport security person. I don't remember the whole story, but they asked something about his bag and he said something to the effect of "well I ain't got no BOMBS if that's what you're asking". That way in the mid to late 90's and to this day he's not allowed to fly commercial.

So tell me how it's okay to make a joke, albeit a ridiculously stupid one, and fit that, lose a constitutionally protected right. There is no due process associated with the no fly list. I suspect the terror watch list is the same, they are SUSPECTED of MAYBE, in the future POSSIBLY committing a terrorist act. Therefore, we WATCH them, supposedly to intercept them BEFORE they do something. Until they do something, they are innocent, and furthermore, even after they do something, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

I guess the majority of America slept through their American Government class.

Here's a good analogy for what they're recommending in regards to the no fly list and guns:

I'm a murder detective and I run across a person whom I suspect may commit a murder in the future because I happened to be in the insurance office and accidentally overheard him increase the life insurance policy on his wife from $20k to $2 mil. He's done nothing wrong yet, but I'm going to put a tracking device on his car, watch his financials, track his cell phone and gather the content of his text messages (oh yeah, I can do that, I do it frequently), all without him even knowing he's being watched..... (assuming I can get a warrant signed by a judge....fat chance in this case, but the FBI watches people without warrant all the time....no due process), and I'm going to stop him from buying a gun for the rest of his life (since, just like the FBI and TSA lists, my murder watch list is impossible to get off of). Thangs literally what the left wants in regards to the no fly list and guns......guilty until proven innocent.....That's not how America works.

            My biggest question here:

If these nut cases were being watched by the feds.......how were they able to do what they did? Apparently, Obama's FBI watches you right up until you commit the crime instead of preventing the crime in the first place.

Like I said elsewhere, it's less of a "watch list" than a "let's see if he does anything we can use" list.

More like a "oooohhh, he's crazy, this will be entertaining, go make popcorn" list. Sure seems like they don't care. What's the point of a watch list if you're not going to use it to prevent terror? So you can stand up and proclaim, "We knew it! We knew he was gonna blow some crap up! We beg watching him for a couple years now." Sure makes them seem incompetent to me.

Yep. It scares me too. Louisiana guy in our office is talking about how great an idea it is. He also argues with me on a daily basis about "assault weapons". He argues that "assault weapons" cycle faster than a normal hunting rifle. He doesn't understand that it is a semi-automatic rifle. A .22 , with more punch. I told him I could shoot just as fast with my .22 as that gun can. That I can slap a cool looking stock and accessories on a standard 223, and it would be the same (maybe the parts wouldn't be as quality) . Now he is arguing that you have to already be doing something wrong to be on the no fly list. There is no due process, but it is acceptable to me to keep people from flying, as it's not a right to fly. Taking my guns away because my neighbor called DHS and made some goofy claim is not acceptable. This is why Americans should block any sort of limitations to their rights, because the gubment always has an end game. The guy in question is a big hunter, works for a living, and drives an over priced diesel that he doesn't need (I am jealous of the truck lol) but the things that he spews just amaze me. We were actually friends, and got along quite well until all this stuff started happening over the last year or so. Now I just avoid being around him or talking to him about anything non work related.

I hope this is right, I was also ****** at the NRA, but if they are not caving, then I will continue to back them.

                        Thanks for the notification

Yep, lists are nothing more than a way to say "you are a target!"

X3..........we continue to prove that WE are willing to trade Liberty for perceived safety! But most would rather argue among eachother as the constitution gets trampled in the process. Bunch of nitwits!
