Right, due process. What seems reasonable to me is that a bit stricter "due process" kicks in if you're on some kind of list. The list ought not deny you a gun, since the list is arbitrary and government controlled without due process, but it ought to be a red flag that kicks in a different level of due process to make sure everything's cool.

Do you understand what due process is?

It's not some bureaucrat arbitrarily deciding that you can be stripped of constitutional rights just because they THINK you MIGHT be doing something wrong.

If someone is doing wrong, arrest them, charge them and let a jury of their peers decide. Until that happens full due process has not taken place.

There is no perfect way to protect liberties and ensure 100% saftey. It just can't happen in a truly free society. If you are willing to sacrifice liberties for safety then we are screwed.

It's a tangled mess.....no way in hell jihadie john in Orlando should have been able to buy a gun. Not sure what the answer is. No more gun free zones, even for private property owners? Just to arm everybody? Just except that this is going to continue and pray that you, your friends and family are never caught with their guard down......

I can't believe that anyone on the no fly list can buy a gun. I've seen & listened all day, according to FBI as long as they (no fly list) haven't committed a crime it's legal. FBI has a list of 291 people on the no fly list that have purchased weapons,.......unbeleiveable !!

We could solve these problems, but we never will. Solving them involves going back to first identifying, then crushing our enemies the first time they act the fool. I'm not advocating nuclear war by any means, but the Japanese got real friendly real fast after we showed them what we were capable of. Sadly, even with all the hardware in the world and the best war fighters the world has ever seen.....our govt is no longer capable of defending this county. Not because they don't have the resources.....but because they don't have the intestinal fortitude.

The next step is to stop inviting every single person, from every single country that hates us to come live in America. Close our borders and only allow people in after they are vetted appropriately.

The third step is banding together as Americans against the common enemies of America and stop fighting amongst ourselves....easiest way to do that is to stop worrying about who/what everyone else is doing and mind our own business collectively.

The final step involves the return of family values like hard work, loving your neighbor, respecting others, etc. We need more families who are willing to admit when Little Johnnie is being a posterior orifice and make it so he can't sit for a few days.

Do those things and watch these terror attacks (foreign and domestic) stop happening. Unfortunately, we've become a nation run by sissies and we'll never win another war the way we used to win wars. Now instead of leaving an enemy broken, and scared to death that we might come back, we leaving emboldened and strengthened groups like ISIS to fill the vacuum left behind...... Face it, ISIS exists because our govt ALLOWS them to exist......We know who they are, we know where their training camps are, we have the capability to launch a missile from Colorado and have it land on a doorstep on the other side of the globe. We can shoot you from a drone flying so high you can't see or hear it.... But we can't take out a relatively small contingent of third world terrorists with AK's and shoulder fired rockets and some cobbled together bombs made from a cell phone and unexploded ordinance? BS. I say, you want to play by terrorist rules, better get ready, 'cause we're about jack you up in ways you can only imagine.....but we won't, because this nation is ruled by, and filled with, pansies.

Has anyone here actually read how you get placed on a watch list? I mean directly from fbi regs, not some website. Its **** scary. And even if your investgation is closed, you are never removed.

Absolutely correct. I guess emotions can make it hard to see but it is the truth.
