No fly list FBI Watch list Gun Purchases?

I know most on here agree that stricter gun laws are a bad thing and I agree they wont help much. However how the hell is in not common sense that if your on a no fly list or FBI watch list you cant buy a gun? Even if it is as simple as someone on that list attempts to buy one it flags the FBI to look into it. Im confused why that isnt already a thing.

And yes i understand that they could buy it from other places just curious yalls thoughts.

Who controls who is put on no fly list? Let's say you hard an argument with the ticket lady and "got removed" from airport. You could very well end up on the NO FLY LIST from such an action. Should you be restricted from purchasing a firearm because they oversold a flight and you got ****** off?

It’s probably America’s most controversial list. You can be put on it without your knowledge, and getting off it is extremely difficult.

I think the problem is with the lists themselves. From what I understand, people with similar names to ones we are trying to block, including children, are sometimes included on the list. It is further complicated when no one can say exactly how someone mistakenly gets on the list, or how they can be removed.

It does seem like common sense, but I think the validity/integrity of the list is the problem.

I'd go with FBI Investigation being reported to the same database that is used for the FBI background check. Not the No Fly List.

Trouble with that is, you or I could be placed on a no fly list for no reason other than a clerical error. Then good luck being taken off of it.

Plain and simple - you can't deny a clear Constitutional right without due process. That list is a bureaucratic mess - thousands are on it for no good reason.

We're already having this conversation in several other places on TBH.

Due Process. That's the bottom line.

All true, the lists are imperfect. But, IMO it makes sense that if you're on such a list, you may get a delay and an interview prior to being allowed to purchase a gun.

The extreme, that a person arbitrarily placed incorrectly on a list would be "banned" from buying a gun seems ridiculous.

Gubament wants to keep you from buying guns, gubament gets to make the list. See the problem?

You familiar with how the federal government operates?

No one knows for sure what gets you on these "lists". Also, a lot of these people haven't committed crimes. Due process and all that.

The government cannot and will not keep you safe. Safety is a false state any ways. The only thing that comes from giving government more power/abilities in return for "safety" is abuse of said power/ability.

Right, due process. What seems reasonable to me is that a bit stricter "due process" kicks in if you're on some kind of list. The list ought not deny you a gun, since the list is arbitrary and government controlled without due process, but it ought to be a red flag that kicks in a different level of due process to make sure everything's cool.
