I guess that's what I was wondering. Aside from going back to the policies y'all already listed, what else could he do?
I’m not sure if you understand how this works. You mentioned the people hiring them. If a guy applies at my company and provides an ID and SS card what do you expect us owners to do? We are not I9 verification business. We have no way of knowing if they are legit or not. You really want to make a difference make the ITN number easier to get so they can pay taxes and shut down every illegal flea market scam selling fake papers.

Do you have any idea how much tax money goes uncollected from illegal workers? Last I read was about 13 billion per year. Who do you think reaps that dirty money reward.

While they are at it, they can go after the vehicle temp tag printing operations.

He lied to you, there is no taxes taken out of their checks, they also don’t file an income tax return at the end of year. We built cinderblock houses for them for housing, the government comes out and makes sure it’s clean and suitable for them on a yearly basis. My wife handles all the paperwork on the visa program workers and she says it’s a pain in the azz

I will openly admit that I'm ignorant about how this system works. Didn't they (the government) come up with a verification program/system? That is something that should be open to all employers and I would go so far as to say even required.

No he didn’t lie. He went and filed an income tax return 1040NR (none-resident) and I believe he was even getting some money back. Someone I know accompanied him to go get it done.

for what it’s worth, I am neither saying the visa work program is a good thing or a bad thing. I do know it’s a mess just like any other program the US GOV runs.

Trump just talked about it at his news conference...mentioned going after the gangs and most violent, although I'm sure it's going to be expansive in nature asap.

SM has lots of cold illegals south of the border tonite & saying all app appointments canceled with stay in Mexico in place. (I was like app appointment??)

Now, should we be raiding more businesses? Yes. But even if we do (as others have attested), it won't make a difference if we don't aggressively prosecute the Americans hiring them.

Unfortunately, I don't see that happening as very few (including Trump) have suggested it. What that tells you is the politicians in charge want to slow illegal immigration, not stop it.
The problem with hiring people who are obviously Hispanic is, the government gives you two or three ways to identify an illegal. If he produces a driver’s license, a SS number, or a green card, you are forbidden to contest it. It may be a phony but contesting it is not allowed. At least it wasn’t when I had a construction company. I had one dozer hand that worked for me about 8 years and I thought he was legal all the time he worked for me. Good hand and a hard worker, like most of them are. After I sold out he told my son that he was illegal and had a phony green card. How was I to know ?

Edit to say that I thought I was at the bottom of the page when there was another page and somebody already made this clear and I’m just and old fart. How’s that for a run-on edit ?

I believe you, it’s very complicated that’s for sure. When we first started the visa program 4 years back, we were taking taxes out of their checks just like all other employees and then we were informed not to.

This here^^^ Every Hispanic we hire has a phony SS number, some are even here on a tourist visa. Last week the cartel before trump took office, were charging 14,000.00 to get illegals across the border driving a vehicle straight through. Corrupt Mexican and Americans working the border.

Must have been deleted as the second time I hit play, it disappeared in the middle and the screen went black. Never seen that happen before.

It's all over...illegals rushed the Juarez bridge on the mex side & trying to force their way in.

Haven't seen any follow up from el paso

^^^ I can’t see the video anymore. I looked at three of the POE bridge webcams around El Paso and could not see the rush of peeps….

obviously the video was recorded during the day and it’s now fairly late…

Sorry, it's gotta be on older vid...way too cold for how they are dressed.

My bad I didn't see it before, but it's another one those gotchas that gets missed. Everyone is sharing.
