Are you saying Trump turning his head couldn’t have been chance or luck? Or that the bringing of Europeans to North America to colonize the USA (and Canada) couldn’t simply have been the natural course of human evolution? Because, I’ll tell you, if I had been one of the Native Indians who watched my entire way of life become blighted, I’d actually feel abandoned by God.

If, as we’ve been taught, God has a plan, and if we aren’t privy to it, how can we make any kind of assertion at all about the hand he had in the events that unfolded at the rally in Pennsylvania? I don’t know if God had a hand in sparing President Trump’s life, but was grateful to Him, nonetheless.

Faith is the foundational tenet of those of us who are believers. This is the very reason we place such trust in the Bible. But we still cannot know God’s plan. One can believe God had a hand in sparing Trump’s life, but to say it is certain that he did, well, my pastor once told us this was human arrogance. (And please understand, I am not calling you, or anyone else here, arrogant.)

maybe the same NON God initiated motivation the shooter had to murder was the same NON God initiated motivation the caused DJT to turn his head.

while the bible tells us that the Lord establishes leadership…we need to always be aware that it is not always godly leadership but sometimes punishment for the people.

i would take 50 more years of biden if it meant more people would come to Christ during it than a century of prosperity and security for the USA.

We don't know what God did, if or how he did it. Only He knows. What I do know is that all Authority in Heaven and earth are His and there is nothing that happens that is not allowed by Him. I give glory to God for all things. If the shooter was allowed on that roof, it was by God. If D J Trump turned his head at the right moment, it was because God allowed it (maybe even caused it, I dont know). Me typing this post, is allowed by God, maybe even inspired and caused by God. I know I'm being compelled by the Holy Spirit. The results will always favor His Kingdom in the end. You can't judge the results by the moments of time you witness, whether good or bad in your eyes. It's what He sees and He sees all things eternally.

Chance and luck are not biblical methods. If they were, we may as well subscribe to evolution.

Generally i think we probably agree.

i think if we dug into our individual opinions on the sovereignty of God we may find differences.

my original post was to just bring to mind the propensity for humanity to develop idols.

i fear that there are Christians (me included) that need to be mindful of that propensity as we roll deeper into this election year.
