    Whisker Biscuit??

I'm about to get my first compound bow for hunting and after doing some research I think I've decided to go with a whisker biscuit. I stopped by a pro shop to check out a bow I was interested in. (Didn't get to shoot the bow because they did not have a demo of that bow?? but that's another subject I guess.) While holding the bow and admiring it I was discussing some of the items I thought I wanted on the bow and when I mentioned the whisker biscuit I was strongly advised against it. He recommended a drop away.

Any thoughts on the whisker biscuit? How many TBHers use a biscuit?

    Thanks for the input.

Use it, love it. I'm just as accurate with it as I was with the drop-away on my previous bow. The bonus is the arrow doesn't fall or bounce off the rest. I still believe shot placement is key more so than speed or equipment. Just my .02.

I use one and have never been busted while drawing it, even with a hog less than 10 yards away.

I think the general thought is that the WB is good for "beginners" and most people move on to a drop away. I see no reason to move on, it works for me.

Used to have one, won't go back. Noisy and hard on fletchings. New drop aways have the full enclosure and I've found my accuracy has greatly improved since going to a drop away. Using the QAD Pro and love it. Haven't tried any of the others.

I will use them as long as they are made. No better on the market in a tree or stalking.

For stalking in cover it is great. Keeps the arrow where it is supposed to be during the stalk.
There is a way to adjust them properly and use the latest adjustable version.
I still have one on my "in the brush stalking bow" (6 years)

Hmmm.. I am not a fan...
I love the arrow containment that the WB gives, but I went with a QAD HD Pro Ultra-Rest. Best rest I have EVER used. Great for stalking because if you draw back and let it down the arrow wont fall... same containment concept, but you don't get noise.

Best hunting rest made. I use blaZer vanes, and will shoot arrow holes in the vanes before the WB hurts them. I also shoot GT5575 arrows and they make zero noise. Been shooting 4 arrow groups in a 3.5" circle at 60yrds. In fact at our 3D range a drop away rest has only placed once ALL year. Give em a try, I think you will love it.

Nothing wrong with them at all....I used one for many years

Find the smoothest (slickest) arrow to help with noise and use blazer vanes.......that rest is bullet proof

I have been using the WB for years, and haven't had any problems since I switched to Blazer vanes, a few years back. The 4" vanes I was using did get a little warped over time. There are ALOT of people that use them, they are fail proof, unlike fall-away rest. BTW I have a WB on one bow and a QAD Ultra on the other. I say go with whatever feels good and you can afford.

I'm a newbie to bowhuntung as well. Bought a used bow with a WB on it last August.

2 Robinhoods, 2 deer and a hog over the last year including an 8 point at less than 14 yards, so noise was not a problem. I use feathers on my arrows, and they do get marks on them, but their flight has not been affected at all.

I like being able to have the arrow ready and not worrying about it falling off the rest.
