I have 2 at the lease and one in the back yard to practice from. I love 'em.

I hunted out of a couple of ladder stands in Kansas last year, I felt safe getting in and out of them, the only problem I had at all was sometimes the deer would travel behind me making it hard to get a shot. I am thinking of getting one of the Game Tamer ladders if they ever get it back together, you can shoot near 360 with one of them.

What I like about them is that you can pull out a section if trees aren't real tall. As far as concealment, don't move when they are looking at you...

Ladder stands are BY FAR my favorite stands to hunt from. Easy in and out, and QUIET to get up. I also feel the safest while hunting from them. If I had my own place to hunt, I would use primarily ladders.

D*ck's Sporting Goods has the Field and Stream 15' ladder stand for $59 and then I used the coupon out of the hunting lisence book for $10 off any hunting product. It even comes with tie down straps, a fetch line and a safety harness.

Here's mine. It was free. I collected all of the materials off I-59 and the Sam Houston Tollway in Houston.

My favorite type of stand as well, although I like a tripod snuggled in a big ol cedar...

I think ladder stands are safer than climbers or hang on's....I like them.

i have basicly gone only ladder stands, just be sure there is cover behind you, i also like to put them in trees that are bigger around than i am so if a deer looks up they cant see you to well. what i have done in the past is take one of my hang ons and hung it just above the platform, to the side right or left and have a spot for 2 people to hunt out of. if the deer are always taking the trails behind me i will start to sit in the hang on more.

That's a sweet lookin' set up for free but is it safe? Hate for you to be sitting in it and it come down How is the chair attached to the tree?
