I built a 20' ladder stand out of unistrut. takes 3 full grown men to move it(depends on how much beer we drank before you try) But I like it on hot days>

Drove a big ole spike through the top of the seat and have some bailing wire wrapped around the legs. Maybe you can see in this pic.

Wish we had a ****'s Sporting Goods in Abilene. I also wish I had a tree big enough to use a 15' ladder stand on out at my lease. It's harder to avoid getting busted on the ground.

Oh OK. I can see the spike and the bailing wire now that I look for it.

Big Brass, you must have some BIG Ones to use that stand, LOL.
I used a ladder stand for the first time last season, and it was great, set up was a breeze and, being 15' up, I could be smoking while waiting for a deer to give me a shot and they would never know I was there.
But then, nothing beats taking a deer at 10yrds from the gound out of a natural blind, there is something special about that.

That is not really my stand. Chew and I stumbled across that while duck hunting the National Forest a few years ago. It's still there. No way would I climb my fat behind up in something like that.

I love using ladder stands. I replace the ropes/ chains with ratchet straps and they are solid and I feel safe while using them.

I like hunting out of ladders, easy to set up and take down and alot of times where I hunt in East Texas you need to get up 15ft just to reach the first limbs on a tree

I really like them. We're probably going to be installing a couple more on our place. I bought one of these www.mytreeblind.com to try out, to help with concealment.
