    S C A R Y !!!!

    She needs an alarm system.

These kinds of stories are the only reason I do like this apartment I live in. If someone wants to break in here, they need to be Spiderman to scale 5 stories.

Mary, that isn't an aparment!! It is a Condo! You just don't want to call it that because you are a country girl at heart.

I agree on the shotgun as well. But my Ithaca Featherlite 16ga. would rock her, and it is way too long for her. Not to mention, it would take her 15 min. to get to it. We have a 6yo boy who thinks he is a warrior. And a 8yo princess. As far as they know, I only have a bow.

That is way to close to home! Hey, you might even offer to go to the range with your neighbor, maybe next time he'll get em good. Just hope here isn't a "next time!"

Unfortunately, there sounds like there will be a next time. He has been told that there will be retaliation for shooting the guy. I don't know how much time I would spend with him while there is a "hit" out on him. I am all about "love thy neighbor" but I still have a wife and kids to think about.

As you well know education is key, I think it will help too.
              Glad you guys are ok.

A good dog is better than an alarm IMO. I got a 128lb Akita that loves kids and anyone we invite in our house. But I wouldn't wont to be the one that comes in uninvited!

Alarm system and an inside dog.
A small dog is all you need if she would arm herself, if not- make it a big one.

The alarm system might not get the police there as quick as some would like, but the LOUD noise coming from your home will wake her up, let the neighbors know something isn't right & most likely spook off any perps.

Going to bed after glancing at the "alarm set" light on the panel in the bedroom sure ads a lot of peace of mind for a good nights sleep.

Motion detection activated security lights on the exterior wouldn't hurt either.

I’ve got the alarm system, 2 dogs, motion lights on the front of the house & a well armed wife that doesn’t hold back when talking about taking someone down in her home if need be to protect her & our son.

We have a hidden gun in the front room for any forced entry scenarios while we are home.
Guns in the bedroom & our concealed carries are in a lock box in the laundry room.

I have a 65lbs chocolate lab that sounds like a great dane to anyone she doesn't know. Best security there is. I told the wife that last night.

My wife would have already packed up the house for me and be screaming at me to get into the moving wagon! Good Luck Man!

Sounds to me like you need to take the neighbor under your wing. Show him how to aim and the proper way to take LDP's.

I can't believe that a .45 hit someone anywhere and didn't either kill him on the spot or leave a massive blood trail.
