    You’re probably right about this.

I guess I’d say that, just like people, some cities do a much better job about keeping their arm pits nicely depilated and pleasingly fragrant than others do. As people go, it guess some folks aren’t as particular about how an arm pit smells as others.

    And that’s okay, too!

But, if you are set on New Orleans the ones mentioned are some of the better ones.
Not to mention NO isn't cajun country and der food reflects it. Seafood is great but celery n tomatoes DO NOT go in gumbo. There is good food but it's not cajun food

Well to be fair, you didn’t say don’t go….you just said based on what you’ve heard (from snowflakes [emoji3]) you aren’t inclined to go.

But based on posts of yours I’ve seen on food, I do think you would enjoy New Orleans.

U would be correct. Never claimed to be actually. Loss and misinformed tourists and a great marketing campaign of the word Cajun has many confused.
The roots of NOLA are France, Spain and Africa........not French Canadian refugees known as Cajuns.
Gumbo originated in NOLA, the word Gumbo is African but various regions do it differently. No tomatoes for me also, but no dark roux either. [emoji3061]

I lived in New Orleans for 34 years and the only place I've personally experienced a crime was in San Antonio.

New Orleans is one of the most crime ridden cities in America. Per Capita, New Orleans is FAR and above more dangerous than San Antonio 👍

This always cracks me up. The Cajun and Creole differences while Nola ( home of the Creole) is surrounded and influenced by Acadia they are in fact very different.

I love Acadia and Nola and appreciate there differences.

New Orleans has a higher murder rate for sure, but your chances of having your car broken into/stolen or being robbed in person are no where near San Antonio's. I know that sounds like a very crazy thing to compare. I worked in NOLA as a Paramedic for 12 years. In that time, I responded to more violent crime scenes than I can recall, but I can count on one hand the number of times the victim of the violent crime didn't fit the same demographic as the perpetrator.

Stay on the beaten path and in a group if you can and you shouldn't have any problems.

i recommend you avoid NOLA. But if you still go, I recommend that you leave absolutely nothing in your vehicle. Leave glove compartment and center console open so that when they try to break into your vehicle, they will see you have nothing. Ask me how i know. I was told, as i was getting my window replaced, that thieves love Texas vehicles especially trucks because they think every Texan has a gun. I mean, we do, but they will break your window to find out. And that’s all they want….guns
