Can’t go wrong with a spoon. Or a mauler and a Berkeley gulp shrimp on a 3/16 ounce jig head under it.

Any else ever added some bright pink plastic tubs with ends cut in a skirt on their gold spoons?. Fits right over the treble hooks or weedless single hook

      BP

Only when the orange tab breaks off. A pack of johnson sprites come with both the tab and the skirk.

I fished today and threw old school motor oil shrimp tails. Redfish ate them pretty well

No way those redfish ate an outdated lure...and color.

Last weekend in Aransas bay it was 1/8th oz jighead with MirroLure Littlejohn in watermelon red that was bringing trout the boat.

Great bait for the drifting or wading the flats with a mix of grass and potholes.

OP if you’re talking about the surf I’d use a 1/2 oz silver Johnson sprite. Bring a few because if smacks are around you’re bound to lose some if you’re not using a steel leader.

Couldn’t believe it either, I figured they stopped once the down south lure was introduced.

Plastic Tabs never lasted long. Spoons forever with new hooks.
I have painted one side of my gold spoons with some red and even taped a strip of that flashy reflective tape on one side.

Caught a lot of fish with maulers when it was rougher or off color.

I'm a fan of a 3" clear sparkle bettle with a 1/4oz red jig head, but sometimes they want the chart or white sparkle bettle.
