It may be a problem, but it aint Reds problem.

This is where you’re being short-sighted. Anything that impacts the property values in his neighborhood affects his as well. Good, bad, or otherwise.

One person passing on a house does not necessarily impact the property values in the neighborhood. What if that person passed because of brick color? Would the seller have to change the entire exterior of his home because of one lousy individual? I think not. I also think the value of the properties in the neighborhood would be unaffected. I certainly hope you live in the country so that you do not have to worry about what your neighbors are doing all the time.

It appears to be a problem for the buyer and/or seller. Neither of which is Red.

One person passing on a house is EXACTLY what it means it means to be a detriment to property values! And this is just the one we know about.

Unless the homeowner in question painted painted his bricks chartreuse (or some other outlandish color), your example is absurd. Try again.

Its absurd because it contradicts your argument. Try again to make this Red's problem. You haven't been successful with that yet.

After seeing the photo, it appears the neighbor built their house too close to the property line... I'd be curious to see where it is located on their lot but they probably put it that close to the property line to take advantage of it being the OPs backyard.

The OP only has one place on the property to store the trailer and that's where he put it. For those that say he should move it, where is he to move it to?

Yes, I have. I now think the blue tarp, lock on stand, and other additions that were previously suggested should be a top priority

the property line on the survey is exactly where the fenceline is

This entire problem can be solved with 50 foot of fence. It’s ridiculous that they even brought it up, it’s entirely their problem, and 0% yours. If you’re feeling generous, you could offer to split the fence with them.

Make sure you put your fish carcasses in an open garbage can by your trailer until trash day.

here is the scene from the street. and it is a early 90s trailer, but not trashed, well maintained for its age.

everything to the left is my yard, and anywhere i move it to, it will be sprayed by the septic system and i would have to build a new fence to hide it behind per city ordinance.

their view is a 6ft wooden fence with 2ft of trailer above it, or 6ft wooden fence with tops of cedar trees. they have no scenic view in that direction even if the trailer was gone.
If I were interested in buying the house, I would come talk to you about the trailer. That said, I still maintain that A) while it is completely your right to keep the trailer there, B) it's an inconsiderate place to keep it considering the room you have (at least now that the house is no longer going to be vacant), and C) it's not unreasonable for a buyer to write in the contract that the flipper come to an agreement with you about moving it before they agree to sign the contract. I get that being considerate falls very low on the scale of priorities for many of the folks on here (at least behind the keyboard), but I don't see a request to move that particular trailer in this particular instance as the least bit unreasonable, even if how they've gone about it is unconventional.
