Not their property and the other part is irrelevant.

I have to agree. I wouldn't want to look at it while enjoying my backyard pool, either. Nor, if I lived in that neighborhood, would I appreciate seeing from the street. One has only to look at the picture to see that it distorts the view.

And let me just point this out...having his trailer parked so near the neighboring property has already negatively affected the value of that property as, clearly, there is at least one buyer that we know of who will pass on the house while the trailer remains a part of the backyard view.

Again, I agree that the OP has the right to place the trailer anywhere he wants to on his property, but to do so to the detriment of the value of surrounding properties is short-sighted, and quite frankly, a shi**y thing to do. Since I wouldn't want anyone doing it to me, I won't do it either (Golden Rule).

I was wondering if anyone rethought their position after seeing the photo of the camper and its proximity to the neighbors house. As a buyer, I’d try to work it out or if not able, pass on the home. I wouldn’t want to live next to a storage lot.

Are you going to tell us how you really feel?
Agreed though, definitely not the place for a camper in a suburban neighborhood environment. Just because it’s right doesn’t make it the right thing to do. But to each their own, your property.

              We agree then.

Still pound sand. Even more so after seeing the picture.

Am I the only one that would of gone up and talked to the OP directly if you were buying?
I have bought property and a house, talked to the neighbors both times before purchasing.

Unless it is against deed restrictions, build a 10' fence.

here is the scene from the street. and it is a early 90s trailer, but not trashed, well maintained for its age.

everything to the left is my yard, and anywhere i move it to, it will be sprayed by the septic system and i would have to build a new fence to hide it behind per city ordinance.

their view is a 6ft wooden fence with 2ft of trailer above it, or 6ft wooden fence with tops of cedar trees. they have no scenic view in that direction even if the trailer was gone.
I'd be excited just to have neighbors around here that own campers, boats, trailers, etc.. Never understood what the fuss is unless it creates a parking issue cluttering the street or something. Everybody around my 'hood are duds, nobody outdoorsy as far as I can tell, though every now and then there's a boat in the driveway a few streets over that's about it.

I think you should do whatever it takes to keep those people from buying the house, if they're complaining about that they'll always be a thorn in your side. Maybe the house flipper lied to you and there's no buyer yet but he wants it to show better or something and didn't have the cajones to say so.

Do what is most convenient for you and in your own best interest. I have found over the years that try to be accommodating always seems to bite me in the arse!!

Your response is self-centered and short-sighted. It is very much a problem if his parking the trailer in a spot that is so highly visible that it is a deterrent to home buyers for that neighborhood.

Sounds like he should put a few more trailers out there and then scoop up some properties for pennies on the dollar

Are they willing to pay for a new fence per city ordinance?
