whats life span of a jalapeno plant? i have one in a 5 gal bucket that is 4 years old and still putting out peppers.

If you can keep the pepper plants from frost/freezing, they will over-Winter and life indefinitely like a perennial. 4 years old is a great accomplishment!! We have a small greenhouse now. I hope to over-Winter a few of my pepper plants this year.

There are some good YouTube videos on how to cut them back when they are dormant and they just explode with new growth in Spring... Supposedly produce the second year better than the first.

Got dang i got about 50 onions that are done and ready to pull and i didnt pay attention to forecast next 6 days of heavy rain. Thats garunteed to rot them. Gonna try to yank them outta ground tomorrow and try to dry them in the garage with a fan or something to start the curing process. Last two days were blazen hot and would have been perfect to dry them out on back porch. Live and learn.

Cucumbers are coming on in abundance. I planted gherkins, straight 8s and an English variety. Green beans have been plentiful. Peppers are starting to come on strong and the tomato plants are putting on a lot of fruit. Fingers crossed most everything stays healthy for another couple months.

Had our first squash variety harvest today. Planted several varieties and they are all doing well now. I pruned them heavily and gave everything a good dose of calcium nitrate.

                          Wait, you have a cat?

I'm kidding, I run a live trap all the time during growing season. I live in the city but near a couple of creeks and we tons of critters, including some stray cats. Not sure what the answer would be for a pet......
