Over 3 years on a Badger with $300 deposit. Simon's Taxidermy in Norco CA. Said it would take 3 months

Had about a year of excuses and then 2 years of not being able to get a hold of him at all. Finally had a friend call him to get a quote on 2 Nilgai Bulls we needed done. He answered that call RIGHT AWAY HAHA. Friend BS'd him for a bit and then mentioned my Badger. Simon goes "Oh yeah, I've been trying to get a hold of him. I thought he didn't want it anymore since I haven't heard from him"
Simon was using my badger as a display in a local outdoor shop to advertise his business. Friend told him to have my badger ready to be picked up when we brought the Nilgai's to him. We set a date and I went and got my Badger with no intention of bringing the Nilgai to him. Took the Bulls elsewhere.

Dang, my taxidermist runs 4-6 months. Dropped this one off early January, and it's ready for pickup now.

An unusually quick turnaround time should be just as alarming as an unusually long turnaround time.

matter of fact, i still have a picture of the cat. I shot it while dove hunting (see birdshot shells in the bed of the truck). Was dove hunting a tree line, downed a dove, and the cat ran out from the trees and grabbed a dove and tried to run back to the woods. I locked him down with some #7 shot. really wanted him mounted with a dove in his mouth.. took to Hookers Taxidermy in Gordonville. They did a fish and a deer for me and both turned out great. Dropped cat and dove off, paid deposit, never heard back. I called and stopped by several times of the years, but always an excuse.
Appropriate name. You got screwed for $100

Was my fault on the long wait. I forgot to take the antlers back to my taxidermist after he was scored.

Was worth the wait and my wife is happy to have her archery elk back!

Ronnie Usher in Splendora. Usher Taxidermy. He's done several whitetails, blackbuck, axis, etc for me. He's got a customer for life in me.

Never more than 12 months with Double Nickle Taxidermy. I’m always amazed by some of you guys that trust some dude your buddy or ex brother in law recommend and then ask “how long you wait?”

                          But to each his own.
