Took 3 years to finally get money back on my brothers bobcat. Many excuses and lies about it being the next one he was going to do. Took a phone call scheme with a buddy to get it. The taxidermist had the gall to bring up that he was out some money on the tanning of the hide when my brother called him to tell him there weren't enough funds in his account to clear the check.

Bobcat pelt was nowhere to be found when he went to get his money back.

      Well guess what?
I got a text late last week about the duck that started this thread.
      Picked it up today
I’m happy with it, worth the wait as we all say

52 years so far on my Mountain Lion. Hopefully I will shoot it and get it dropped off so the taxidermist can start.

It looks great, but was it really “worth the wait?”
Surely there’s one or two taxidermists that could have done it just as well in a year or so.

9-10 months is the longest I've waited. I dropped this cat off on September 18, 2021 and picked it up on March 25, 2022... I feel like my taxidermist is awesome and I can't imagine waiting over a year.

Longest wait time for taxidermy work?

2 1/2 years and just got it back home today.

Was my fault on the long wait. I forgot to take the antlers back to my taxidermist after he was scored.

Was worth the wait and my wife is happy to have her archery elk back!

4 years on a javalina mount and I’m not even sure it was the one I dropped off…

He didn’t charge me for it though so I guess it’s ok….

I've been waiting for a velvet skull mount of an axis for 16 months now. Famous last words should be ready in a couple of weeks.

Still have a red fox at the taxidermist from back in 2020 I think it was. But my taxidermist had just had foot surgery when I took it to him. So who knows how long it took him to actually get started on it. I ain't worried about it. He's been doing taxidermy full time for as long as I've been alive. I'd rather he takes his time and have a product I'm not ashamed to hang on the wall rather than just slapping something together and it ends up cross-eyed or smiling. I'm picky about how predators look after they've been at the taxidermist. If something is off I'll notice. It's kinda hard to make a deer or a bird look stupid.

If I'm spending $600+ I don't want it coming back lookin like you put it in the dryer for 24 hours. I don't want something back in less than a year then a year later bugs are eating it or the fur is falling off.

3 months, but my wifes uncle does my taxidermy so not sure if that plays a factor. I drop mine off and tell them no rush every time but its always around 3 months

I think he's mad at me for sleeping with his wife!
He’s probably way short on time.
