I was in Walmart about 2 years ago and I did notice that it had the smallest clothing department I’d ever seen in a Walmart. Now I know why.

Years later I was working for a friends HVAC company and one morning he said “we’ll be starting out at Beavers Resort this morning”. I laughed and made a joke about wearing sunglasses to avoid the sites, and he kinda looked at me a little oddly and went on to say that I needed to check the air handler and diagnose the issue. My coworker and I headed out. We pulled up to the gate, and buzzed the intercom. They let us in, and a lady greeted us on a golf cart naked as the day she was born we climbed in the attic and couldn’t find anything wrong. Climbed back down and asked who had called it in. She called the owner, he said “we didn’t call anyone, check with your boss”. So I called the office and endless laughter ensued, with me and my coworker being the butt of the joke apparently there is a street in Kingwood called Beavers Resort, and the nudist colony had changed names to Emerald Lake. I had NO idea 😂 unfortunately for me and my coworker, everyone at our church knew about our visit to the nudist resort before the next service time had arrived 😂 oh well, at least our blunder had provided a lot of laughter for everyone who knew us

I’m thinking the place in Porter would be an interesting venue for East Texas TBH Meet And Greet. Or would it be Meat and Greet? Either way I’m open to suggestions.

Possible games and activities:
East Texas Hold Em
Black Jack
Bobbin for Buscuits
Putt Putt golf with a Skins tournament
White Elephant?

A little Porter History. That property was owned by the Crippen family. Robert Crippen was a commander on one of the original space shuttles. That lake was dug as a borrow pit to build the new Hwy 59 in about 1970. In the 70s sometime, a kid drowned in it while fishing so Granny Crippen closed access to everyone. This lake was known to have some big bass. So at age 13, in 1986, at the First Baptist Church of Porter, I pleaded my case to Granny Crippen to let me fish it. Had to bank fish, no boats, couldn't bring more than one friend at a time and a few other rules, but permission granted. From that day until the day they sold it I was the only person with permission to fish it and I fished it all the time. It was awesome.

Mrs. Crippen sold it to someone that made it a pay-to-fish place and they ruined my playground by letting anyone with $5 in my honey hole and fished it out. Next thing you know, they have ziplines, anchored bounce houses and all kinds of bull ****.

Those people sold it again and the first nudist resort came to Porter....Beaver Resort....I **** you not. Now Porter has always had a competing number of churches and beer joints, but nobody was ready for the nudist and it was the talk of the town for sometime. Eventually they changed the name to a more respectable Emerald Resort and people kinda forgot about it. I don't know who goes there, but I bet they ain't the pretty people.

I talked with Pat a few minutes ago and we came to the agreement that flag football should be a no go! More than half would have not enough to tie there flag too🤣🤣

When a nudist resort opened between Needville and Boling, I made fake certificates for Christmas and gave them to my family. I still laugh about it.
