Following this closely, as I need some windows. Everything I've read is like mentioned estimates go from one extreme to the other.

Fortunately I've been able to weed those contractors that come onsite and tell you need the best of the best and come in with some crazy figure... but this scares due to the extremes I've seen and heard.

This is who I used, but probably don’t service OP’s area. I wanna say it was ~$10K, but I have 21 windows, and many years ago.

13 windows for 12,000 and two years interest free. Paid them off in that two years. I think you can do much better.

          Good folks...
Jimmy with Allstate Window and siding did my replacement windows. I highly recommend him and his company. 14 windows which included 2 sliders.

Slightly off topic sorry. I went and looked at a nice custom house a couple days ago and the windows were double pane but the house was built in 97. They looked beat up. Could those have been original? I thought they didn’t do double pane till after 2000

I've been planning to get new windows. My house was built in 1978, so it would probably be worth it. My house has 15 windows, a sliding door and the entry door that could all stand to be replaced. The ones in the living room and dining room sweat when we have a humid spring day. I noticed several of the recommended companies are in the Houston area, I need someone that services East of Dallas.

He beat Window World and the weird part was it felt like I knew him for ever. Really a comfortable transaction. Tell him I said hi please...

Look into Showcase windows. They are made in Houston. I believe McCoys is a dealer for them.

There is a fellow in Granbury, John Bush, that did my windows a 3 or 4 years ago. They were NT brand. Very reasonable and excellent installation crew. PM me if you want his number.

We put Pella black fiberglass windows in our house that we're building now. I didn't want vinyl either. They were about 1/3 of that quoted cost per window. Most of then are 3060, so none as big as your largest windows. But still, that sounds crazy high.

I am very pleased, and my energy bill dropped a lot.

I think they advertise 10 windows for 5.9k installed now.
Same. They did a great job and even came back when I wasn't happy with the way the header above the sliding patio door was done. They are good windows, but yes, they are vinyl. Fiberglass are next level, but a year after, you'll never look back and wish you would have spent more.

I used window world on two houses and so far they have been great. I believe I had about 25 windows done for less than 10,000.00. Of course that was probably 4-5 years ago.

We used Window World a few years ago. Good price and the windows are decent. They did jack up one of the installs that only now is showing the issue. Don’t bother with the annual service contract, most of the people they are using now can’t run a caulk gun.

Ha! Yep..their website looks like it might've been a school project! However, replaced all my windows with Don Young windows almost 10 years ago and they've been great. Noticed instant savings on the energy bills and they still look great. Gotta find a dealer tho!
