We just got a quote for 17 window, three being half round and three being large windows, $63k. These are top of the line fibrex windows with a 20 year warranty. Surely I can do better, any suggestions? I'm watching the Houston Window Experts comparison videos and the Windsor windows look nice, but I was told I DO NOT WANT VINYL. Thoughts?

Dude no! They at try to sell the same product with different names and call them TOP of the line..
My suggestion, as an exterior contractor...
go to Window World or another window wholesaler and have them measure and quote the windows.
Deliver them to your house
Then have a contractor install them

Replacement Home Windows

Oh no . I'd definitely shop but Anderson wouldn't be one of the phone calls. They're insanely expensive.
Seriously, check out window world and compare the construction. There's not much that sets windows apart these days but the pricing is all over the place. Ex. For a long time Simonton was "top" quality but built in the same factory with the same machines as a few other brands.Last edited by Chuy; 01-18-2023, 08:40 PM.

I had Window World come look at my house and have them make a proposal. The windows they proposed were sub-par quality, IMHO.
I had another company complete the work, unfortunately I can’t think of the window mfg they used. They were vinyl, I know OP said no vinyl. What they did have, was aluminum tubing reinforcement sighing the frames.
I did find many more better options than WW as to window quality. They were cheap though in total price.Last edited by Greenheadless; 01-18-2023, 09:13 PM.

Oddly enough anderson was 3k cheaper than the contractor doing the same windows. And I was able to get one of their guys to come back and replace all my soffits with hardi then paint the entire house and 2 1/2 car garage with paint I bought for cash if I didnt tell anyone else.
But I got the poors and only have 11 windows my crib

I feel lucky.....I used a place out of Pasadena,TX that was recommended by quite a few people on here. I had 13 windows done for $6200. They are double-paned and have a 110 mile per hour rating. When I looked around I was quoted up to around $25K. I am extremely happy with my windows. The noise level from the outside went down dramatically. My AC bill went down as well. Many window places are not what they seem to be. I would get a whole bunch of estimates and take a look at the samples they bring out.

If you’re looking to replace all your windows I can only assume your house is older with single pane windows. @ $63k where is the value? How many years would you have to be in your home to recover your investment at that price? And I’ll replace them for $59k and enjoy spending the extra $40k you just gave me.
