I agree 100000% it’s better for more animals. If the SOB works that day lol
What exactly are you referring to? I have 4 Lamcos on my 120ac and there are 10 on the ranch I work at. Other than a dead battery every now and then, or a cattle
cube getting hung up on the spinner plate, all of them work flawlessly. The cattle cube deal is the feed companies fault for having them mixed in with the bulk deer protein every once in a while. It certainly is no fault of the feeder. The feerlder is not designed to dispense that type of feed!

We also have ASF 1-ton timed feeders at the ranch I work at. If all you are feeding is deer, they are great feeders. But if you have big critters, esp aoudad, they are not worth a darn. The big critters, aoudad and scimitar especially, will beat them to death. I have literally had to weld the complete lower end, tubes and all back onto the bins that they have torn them off of.

I have way more issues with the ASF feeders getting clogged up than I do the Lamco. And access to clear the ASF feeder is significantly more difficult than access on the Lamco.

I think I finally sorted through all my issues on mine. Replaced timer. And solar panel system.

This one doesn’t have a rain sensor. So in the rare occasion we get rain in Sonora, and critters don’t eat it….i get to clean out wet protein. Gets nasty in the summer.

Interesting charts. I hand feed daily on a beat-up cedar shelf about 2 hours before dark. 95% or more of the feed consumption is done by bucks. Central TX. I'm very ok with that.

For you guys that use timed feeders that dump into a trays, what happens when a good 1" or 2" rainfall event occurs with feed in the trays? Do the deer eat the mush? Raccoons? Or does it drain ok?

The deer clean up my Lamco dry or wet. They don’t leave anything. The Lamcos do drain really well.

My Lamco trough feeders have rain sensors and do not throw when it’s raining. When my feeders go off the deer show up immediately most of the time and eat it all. The protein doesn’t sit in the trough all day waiting for something to eat it.

The trough has opening on each corner for water to quickly drain off when it does rain. I’ve been using them for years. They are the most reliable feeders I have.

I suppose in the rare event it rains after the feed dumps and before animals eat it then the feed gets wet, but the water quickly drains out. I’ve never had to clean out rotten protein from my troughs. Something eats it.
