Taxidermy Rates/Waits

Out of curiosity what are you folks paying for WT shoulder, euro (plaque), and horn (plaque) mounts? How are average wait times? I just dropped a few things off and was a little shocked at prices and wait times. Did a little shopping afterwards and it seems like prices have just gone way up.

$875 shoulder mount and 10-14 months depending on the volume of deer he gets each year

Pretty close to what I saw, I was most shocked by the horn mounts, anywhere between 225 and 250 even if I brought the skull already skinned and cut.

Prices on ALL taxidermy related supplies have gone through the roof not to mention shipping costs have doubled in the last 2 years!! And some supplies take months to get now.. Its getting ridiculous..

Good gracious, doesn't sound like I'll be getting a shoulder mount any time soon. I understand good taxidermy isn't cheap but I had no idea it was that high.

I used Tutor Taxidermy in Conroe last year for my shoulder mount. Dropped it off November 11th and got it back around 3 months later. It's the one on the left, but he did both mounts.

Hard to compare work on cost. Are hides actually tanned or just a preservative applied and stretched green. Different forms are different prices. Lots of variables in taxidermy work but one thing for sure their costs are way up like everything.

My brother said a place in Lampasas quoted him 2 years. I can't remember the price but it was high too

Thanks, but why don't you like the mounts? Just curious, not trying to be confrontational. He's the only taxidermist I've used for deer. He's done 3 for me. This is the 3rd one, but it was the first he did for me.
