I’ve been limited to fishing the coast in the summer for the past few years. Got down more this fall and it was awesome. Looks like much more opportunity to fish throughout the year in 2023.

Primary focus has been catching reds from the Mowdy s-10., hoping to continue to explore more news area and maybe catch a few mote trout.

Also want to fish the Jetty more this year from the rocks. Would be nice to catch more consistently there.

Gonna get engaged with the seasonal cycle this year.

      Pomps on PINS

      Some more offshore

And running the Laguna Madre - mixing cast and fly. Dink trout days, when Dinks are deep and thick, the fly will make it fun.

Wrapping a 7'6" spinner for the inshore - for those light weight presentation days and have a 6wt Bamboo fly rod to build as well........just cuz Dinks will make that old school hex bamboo blank fun as sin.

The spinner will run 6lb line and I will have a 4lb Ultralight onboard to change out - If I can find a pile of Mangrove Snapper.

The Laguna Liquids would be a solid choice. They are nice rods for under $200.

My last 2 have been customs. Im picking out the blank, grips, colors, type of hook holder etc and a guy I know is building them. Between my wife, son and I we've got 4 from him and all have been under 200 bucks. Ive caught over slot reds and kid has done jacks in the Fl surf with his.

He aint anywhere close to you though

I have a waterloo salinity I really like. Have an all star inshore that is nice for a $70 rod. I'm a bait chunker usually though so light isn't a thing.

I'll probably take my jon boat to the lake for cats come march, bounce across the bay on a couple of calm days to chase trout, then catch most of my fish potlicking with Capt Glenn.

My waterloo carbon mag is super light and I love it for Wade fishing but it is well over $200.

I want a carbon mag but 500$ I just can’t justify it. I’d break it the first day probably.

Thanks I was looking at them. How are they as far as weight goes? We wade 99.99% of the time so that’s my main focus is light weight.

                        They have good warranty.

My buddy has 2. Both have broken on him while fishing.
Seriously doubt he did anything intentionally to break them as he’s pretty darn careful with his gear.

Planned on getting one, until his broke. Might have been a fluke, but that was enough for me to change my mind.

Mine has been flawless, but with my luck it will break next trip. I have had 2 different salinity’s break but waterloo replaced with no questions asked.

I have a few Fishstix I really like and Hunter has stood up to his warranty. They were $229 I think.

Odd, they only offer to sell me another rod at half price, or was it $100 flat fee can't remember. Wife had one break first cast brand new Salinity about 2 years ago. I love my Salinity though, use it for everything and will buy another when the time comes.
