There's a lot of things I feel grateful for. One of those was being able to join the military and now have the VA cover me. It may not always be the best, but those medical costs are insane.
About $45 every two weeks for family plan including wife and two kids. High deductible health plan with $3000/6000 (individual/family) deductible and $4000/8000 max out-of-pocket. Try to put what we save on premiums into a health savings account for use when needed.
Luckily, I could get on my wife's plan that she got to keep when she retired. I`m retired and pay 60 dollars per week BCBS. Medical only. (260 monthly)
As predicted many years ago when Obama started this crap... And it will only get worse until people stop paying.
As of now we're all divided
1. People who are lucky and get it cheaper (may still sting but not as bad) through work.
2. People who need it and suck it up and pay far too much
3. People who have gotten use to paying too much and prefer to not think about it
4. People who get it for free
5. The minority group of people who refuse to pay and are risking it.
Until groups 1 and 3 decide to stop simply shrugging their shoulders because they're lucky it will get worse. I hope those same guys don't come on here complaining once they lose their job (or their job cuts insurance) because I doubt the guys being screwed over for the last 10+ years will give a crap at this point.
I’ve had the same plan since 2008 or 9. Back then I still had both of my sons in it. It cost me around $450 per month. That same plan now with just me and my wife on it is $1750 per month. Thanks Obama.
