I hope you have a speedy recovery! I have a few brown widows around the outside my house. I leave them be. They kill black widows from what i read and aren't as aggressive nor do they use as much venom when they bite.

Hope the day went well. Llano Co. has some B&C black widows. For whatever reason, seems like they are more prevalent in the drought than in rainy years. Some years it seems like there is one under every rock, piece of steel, etc.

We righted a blown over stand once and I crawled up in it to straighten things out, etc. When my eyes got used to the light I saw a couple black widows. I was wearing leather gloves so I just smashed ‘em. I looked under the chair immediately and on the floor so one wouldn’t sneak up on me. In the process of getting everything cleaned up I killed 14…..yes, 14 black widows. I don’t know why, but never have I seen more than one or two in the same place. I thought about getting out of the stand but they were so docile I just kept smashing them. Don’t think I didn’t think about that every time I climbed into a deer stand in the dark after that little escapade.

                          Good for you
We have a gazillion spiders here
And scorpions. I’ll take the scorpions any day now.

                          BP.

That was a close one Waterdog. Black widows and scorpions are the reasons I wear gloves.
