Hahahahaha....Yes they do. I'm Texan but, I've had it grilled in Pensacola at a family reunion on my Dad's side ....Not bad, not great. Was whiter than I expected. When they announced the fish, all of my Texas family (brothers, uncles, Dad and cousins) said "Mullet?" in unison looking at each other. We all agreed it was ok. The Mobile side of my family were raving about it.

...but my tongue in cheek answer was in no way related to that. ..

Definitely not the same. My family is from FL. Mullet is a delicacy there. Our mullet will gag a maggot
