After reading a thread about feeding the deer herd on account of the drought by Doghouse, I bit the bullet and made a lease run 2 weeks ago. $130 in diesel. Around $275 for 20 bags of corn and 2 bales of alfalfa. $100 for a room in Coleman. $50 for a gallon of paint and 3 tubes of caulk. (Resealed and painted a weathered blind.) $40 for beer and sandwich supplies. I actually bumped up the feeders a couple of seconds from the normal of 2 second for offseason. Hopefully earned some good karma for the upcoming season. Dove season looks like it is going to be rough with nothing in the sunflower fields. It was so dry dust would come up when I would take a leak. The cows just stay by the round bales and the stock ponds that still have water and don't even wander the rest of the ranch...
