I'm not going to feed this spring and I'll reevaluate in early summer. With business hurting, and with the other things going on nationally and globally, we are trimming everywhere we can.

just an avg calc... if your lease is a 5hr drive that is about 250$ in gas for a RT... plus feed and food.... easy 350$ avg spent on each trip
Do just 5 trips in one season you are in another 1750$..
I know when I was on my last lease I was there way more than 5 times... Im doing the western hunts instead now

What’s the issue? Corn still hasn’t matched inflation and is under 8 a bushel. Using 1980 $4.00 bushel price and inflation calculator corn should be 13.50 if it followed inflation.

Corn is still cheap!!! Buy more corn

Now wheat that’s different story. Sure wish I haven’t moved most of mine to barely

I will continue to feed year round. On my lease it’s a requirement anyway. I came in to this world penniless and am committed to leaving the same way.

I might have to hitchhike to work... but my deer are eating.

I’m spending over $600/mo to feed on my 122ac place. Not too long ago it was $400/mo. I’m still feeding, but something is going to have to give soon!!!!!

                      That’s a good idea.

I cut my deer off at the beginning of the year, they will just have to be resourceful this year

My protein feeder just ran dry judging by camera pictures. Was going to go this weekend but the weather and increased costs has me reconsidering the trip until may. Round trip to the ranch for gas is around $400 right now, plus another $400 for protein. Granted I only fill the feeders every 3-4 months, but it gets spendy quick!

Well with those fuel prices continuing to creep up, feed prices food prices FJB’s greatest economy blazing a trail to ever higher inflation has anyone started planing on limits ?
