A right turn must be made as close as practical from the right hand curb to the right hand curb. A left-hand turn on the other hand can be made into any lane in that direction unless there’s a sign indicating which lane to turn to or a striped lane. So if you are in a left hand turn only lane with no other signs or markings and there are three lanes going in the direction you were turning left to, you can turn into any of those three lanes.
