With two people and a lift this would have not been necessary but in my case working alone it really helped. Once the shield was aligned I removed the studs and installed the bolts provided. I have some of the tamper resistant bolts on order. Nothing will deter a determined thief but maybe I can make the one next to me more attractive.


    That jack stand is well seasoned! Do you have a pic of the actual shield?

      One thing I would consider. Refrain from tack welding the bolts or welding in at all. Your truck at some point will need repair (Yes even Toyota's break down) Makes it more of a pain for the tech working on it and might cost you a little more for the repair. Even if under warranty the shop may charge you a fee for removal. Last, if you go the Imma weld this son-of-a-gun method, do yourself a favor and disconnect the negative battery terminal, allow the vehicle to sit for 10ish minutes before welding.

          Desert eagle plate installed. Doesn’t protect the rear cats however so I’m probably going to start making our own design that protects both sets. Also put some foam on the transmission crossmember to eliminate any rattling.
