I wouldn't buy one though, like other have said you could make one pretty easily. Good thing I drive a chevy and no one wants it!

Be a good neighbor and make me one!

What gauge are they using? This would be super easy to cut and throw on the brake if we have the dimensions on them. It looks like they're powdercoated as well.

I am pretty sure it is 10 gauge and it is powdercoated.

IIRC the website says 10 gauge and they are powder coated. From what I have seen there are no bends. Could probably make a template pretty easily.

there are definitely bends. There are wings on the sides that tuck up between the frame rails

You are correct. If I were to fab something the wings would probably be a piece of flat bar since I don't have a bending brake large enough to bend that material.

flat bar would work fine. the bends on mine are 90° and maybe 2 inches tall, but i would think they could be taller if you wanted

Anyone talked to Desert Eagle today? I spoke with him on Wednesday and was told to call back today to order. Left message but no return call. Wondering if Desert Eagle is currently overwhelmed with orders.

Tack weld the nut on a couple of the studs ...worst case you cut off the bolt . Criminals don’t like it when make things hard.

Cheap possible deterrent.. Paint bright orange or white with heat resistant paint. Etch it with VIN number or license plate number. They may move on from the trouble to clean it. Read News story**********What is Etch and Catch?
                          A. Etch and Catch is a free community event that is available through the Rocklin Police Department (and any other law enforcement agency that would like to host an event) where we etch the vehicle's license plate number to the catalytic converter. We then spray a bright white colored high heat durable spray paint around the license plate number. We then provide the owner of the vehicle with a bright yellow sticker that reads "This vehicle's catalytic converter has been etched by the Rocklin Police Dept."

I installed my Desert Eagle cat shield today. Was easier than I expected. I did make four 3" studs to align the shield as I raised it on a floor jack. With two people and a lift this would have not been necessary but in my case working alone it really helped. Once the shield was aligned I removed the studs and installed the bolts provided. I have some of the tamper resistant bolts on order. Nothing will deter a determined thief but maybe I can make the one next to me more attractive.
