Are we talking about catching a 30” trout on a croaker or live shrimp or we talking about using lures? Big difference between the 2 in my opinion.

30” trout on lures all day long.

I’ll take any deer over any trout.

I’ve been fortunate to be able to accomplish both. I’d take the deer any day over the fish.

Deer all day. I've caught more than a few 28-30" Trout.

I’m a deer guy over a fish guy. Never had a trout or red make me shake. Now a 10lb bass... that’s a different story.

Neither, I love the outdoors and take what it gives me. I'm happy with a 10 inch crappie or an 30 inch trout. Big deer are cool to me but I don't go crazy for them lol

Edit: iv never caught anything close to a 30 inch trout or shot a big buck.

In my present hunting arrangement I don't foresee me shooting a 180" class deer. I have a better chance at catching a 30" trout. 27" trout is my PB.

For me, I’d say 180” deer because I’m not paying the money to “go buy” one. If I shot a 180” it would be legit blessing! Plus good Lord has already blessed me with a 31” trout 😁🙏🏼

I think a lot of people who’ve caught a lot of 30+ trout use the “close enough” school of measuring.

My oldest boy caught two big trout back to back 5-6 years ago. He told a friend of mine he caught two 30” trout. When that friend asked me if it was true I said nope. One was 29 1/4, and the other was 29.5”. NOT 30”.

I’ve caught 2 trout over 30” which was awesome, but I’ll take the deer low fence high fence no fence I don’t care.
