Hunting License problems at Academy

I did online for the first time this year and it was great. Will be doing that from now on.

I never have an issue at Academy. Walk in, tell them what I want, I pay and get it. Been buying mine there for 20 years at different locations. I'm not that lucky in hitting the knowledgeable employees at those stores.

Same for me, now the times I was forced to hit a Wally World...not so much

I always just get it online now. Got tired of fighting academy employees. One told my son's friend he needed to buy a duck stamp for EVERY duck he killed.

x2.....get the app too. License shows up on the app within a day or so and the paper copy comes in the mail a week later. No worries, see everything listed before you purchase.

LMAO! Y’all expect great service from a Chinese trinket shop? That’s funny. Did you know that you can buy a license at places that have intelligent employees? I get mine at the local feed store. Same person every year for the last 20 or so years.

I’ve only heard good things about buying licenses online. I have a lifetime licenses so I would not have to pay anymore. I refuse to pay the $5 handling charge online. I’m lucky to have a Walmart close that have a couple of people working the sport good department that know what they are doing. I wait until one of them working to get my licenses.

I've never had an issue at Academy stores in SA and for HIP it's a dead giveaway if they don't ask you the migratory bird questions. Having said that, I buy online simply for convenience and not having to stand around in a line.

I've found the post office is best place to buy the stamp, TPWD didn't mail
Mine when I bought online. I miss the old hunting license!

Unfortunately most post offices no longer have the stamp. The Coppell dist. center is the only one I am aware of that has the stamp in DFW these days. Most small town post offices will have it but its still a crap shoot.

Always do mine online. Academy is as bad or worse than Walmart when it comes to getting a license.
