Not to make light of your situation but growing up we lived 13 miles from town. Mom had done something to me I disapproved of and I threatened to call Cps. She grabbed the phone and a belt and told me to call Cps. She said it was gonna take a while for them to get to the house and she was gonna tear me up till they got there. Needless to say I didn’t call. Turned out to be a decent human being I think.

I joked ONCE about calling CPS. My Dad told me to go ahead and call Judge McMillan while I was at it, because by the time CPS got there they'd need the JP there to declare me dead. I laughed....he didn't.

Cindy didn't get elected until I was nearly grown. Her Dad was JP before she was. I can't even remember his first name. Everybody just called him "Judge".

Wait about a month, call CPS on the POS mom for (insert accusation here) that called them on you. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. And CPS would not under any circumstances come into my house without a warrant and an accompanying LEO. But that just me. You have a calmer attitude about it than I would. I applaud you for it.

I’d have an attorney so far up that woman who called cps’s ***, she’s think she was getting a dental exam. I hate lawsuits, but that’d be simpler and cheaper than beating her husband within a 1/16th” of his miserable life.

I’m a pretty easy going guy, and I don’t mind playing the long game at times. But any human attempting to come between me and my son, especially in that way, will experience a level of hell not previously seen before.

You are correct I had forgotten that her dad was JP before she was. And I have no idea what his name was either, he was just “Judge McMillan” in our neck of the woods as well

Had a neighbors daughter pull this cr@p on them when she was a sophomore in HS and it just snowballed. She was mad because she could not go to a party. She physically assaulted the mom and the mom finally responded after the daughter would not stop beating on the mom. The next day she had a mark on her face from her mom and she called CPS and said the dad hit her. He was not even at home. She said she was physically abused by the Dad. CPS workers showed up, school got involved it was a disaster. Daughter finally admitted to lying but the damage was done and the CPS worker decided the parents threatened her to recant her story. Sad thing is that these were great loving caring parents. CPS worker was a complete idiot and just made the whole situation worse. My heart goes out to you. The CPS incident will never disappear and it still haunts the neighbors. He went to get his CHL license and it popped up and slowed down the whole process for him. You have to control your emotions. Good luck! Just try to remain as docile as possible and say as little as possible. They will turn your words around whenever possible.

From their stories you should just start smoking dope and selling your body in front of your kids and that'll get CPS to leave you alone for several years.

You did the correct thing. It’s sad how many people Get angry at Cps. They’re doing their jobs, and they are legally required to investigate if someone calls in an intake. It might seem stupid, invasive, and annoying but the amount of abuse that occurs in this world would surprise most people. Especially right now since domestic violence and child abuse has doubled because of Covid. The investigators are tough and abrasive because no matter what people tend to lie to them.

Just stay calm, tell the truth, and be an open book. Oh and don’t say stupid smart *** comments. It never hurts to speak to an attorney, but make sure it’s someone who’s actually done Cps law and not just family law.

Oh and I’m a former Cps prosecutor, so I tend to know what I’m talking about.

My sister worked Montgomery County for three years when she graduated, it was a real eye opening experience for her. She really had to put her game face on everyday, things got real hard but she gained a lot of perspective. She’s now with Texas Children’s and is out of the field now. I’ve had to deal with a lot of stuff in my working career but I’ve never got kicked in the face chasing a teenager trying to jump a fence. Probably one of the hardest professions a person could get into, you’ve got to REALLY like people.

OP, sorry you're going through this. We found out the hard way that CPS is the work of the devil. They will only see things in their view and will not listen to any thing else. We had to get a lawyer and threaten to sue to stop them. Good luck to you.


PS- If the kids are minors, you don't have to let CPS talk to them unless in your presence.
