Admittedly, no I did not and never have. It has been sitting in the garage not being used but I have used it in the middle of the summer before with better results.
Theoretically, if I drain tomorrow morning and refill with ice should it hold that batch longer because it was pre cooled today? Or is that not how it works?

I don’t see how this could possibly be a warranty issue.

Riding in a truck causes ice to melt faster. The truck movement creates friction between the cubes.

Are you an engineer? Do you have graphs and pie charts to validate this theory?

I had a rtic 65 in my hotel room this weekend. Had to add bags every day because it was always melted by morning. So that was pre chilled cooler with already cold drinks and That’s in a 72 degree cooled room. RTIC coolers suck if that happens.
Also the rtic soft cooler lining on the top cane apart in several areas. Going to try to give them a call this week myself but don’t expect any help.

Yeah. Those Rtic soft sided coolers are complete junk. A little heat and the top just comes apart.

Yes, if the chest is cool it will hold ice longer but what kills it is repeated openings & also like M16 stated, letting it slosh around in the back of a vehicle.

If going on a longer trip you either need to pre cool with sacrificial ice or yeti ice & the like...remember, you can set your cooler out in the sun & put food in it to keep it warm for a drive as well. Holds heat like it does cold & why it nuked your ice being in the garage.

I’ll buy all of these defective RTICs if they won’t cover under warranty.

I did an experiment with a marine igloo, pelican, and Rtic cooler approximately the same size. Put two large Bucee’s bags of ice in each one n headed to the lease (SE Webb county) Friday morning. Left all three coolers in the bed of my truck all weekend under a tonneau cover. It was extra ice for deer. Mid-October. Didn’t kill so never opened the boxes. Got home Sunday evening, unloaded the truck. Dumped the water and ice bags out on my driveway from the Igloo and the Pelican. Put the two still half full ice bags from the Rtic in my freezer for the next trip. Igloo had zero ice, only cold water. Pelican had maybe a double hand full of ice total from both bags.

Get one of them aluminum sun reflective gizmos that fits over the top.

One of those "visor/windshield" windshield sun screens doe work pretty good if the coolers cannot be put in the shade... preferably covered with an air gap between the screen and the cooler...

I have a floor section from a little grow tent that fits the 75 qt Yeti's perfectly just over the lids, we're starting to use that at fish camp as the coolers sit on the sand in the sun often and it definitely helps. If you want to get crazy there's commercial options as well like this but they're designed to cover the whole thing, my little lid you can get in and out of the cooler without removing it. https://www.popupgizmos.com/products/cc_pug.php

Those would be real handy if you was storing ice for the weekend. I may need to look into this more.
