                    So the humerus can be dislocated from the scapula but if that happened the deer wouldn't be able to walk, especially bilaterally. The scapula and upper extremity is not otherwise attached to the rest of the skeleton, but only by muscular attachment.

                    This is likely some congenital abnormality that the deer was born with.
