Hydration Drinks

I’m pretty sure we all drink water as well (I know I do) but in extreme conditions you need more than water. Look up hyponatremia. We lost a great TBHer to it several years back and it has most of us all paying more attention than drinking just water.....

Keep the first empty bottle, then I take a new bottle and pour half in the empty bottle .......top them off with water and have two 32 oz drinks for the price of one. Works great on lease work weekends and dove hunts.
I also use liquid IV in water bottles a couple times a day.
I have also started mixing in a Body Armor drink here and there.
My daughter is a softball catcher and on tournament days she lives on Body Armor, water and water with liquid IV. It has cut out fatigue and headaches and now sweats thoroughly and urinates frequently.

The most miserable hunt that I have ever been on was when we are trying to collar jaguar down in Chetumal for the Mexican government. Chetumal is just north of the equator and is a huge rain forest. Extremely hot and high humidity as we were not able to get in there until May because the forest had been flooded.
We had a four natives with us and they started the day with a handful of cooked rice in a plastic liter coke bottle. They would add about a tablespoon of granulated sugar and then fill the bottle with water. They would drink a bottle full to start the day and make up another bottle full to carry them until noon. Our days started about 5 AM. On several occasions, they attempted to share their drink we me but I just could not bring myself to drink after my new friends. Most had very few teeth and had a very strong aroma.
Adios,
Gary

Vitamin water zero or the Costco Brand (Kirkland) equivalent are what I prefer in addition to plenty of water. Sometimes I'll keep a few pieces of jerky or similar for a little extra protein and additional sodium.
GU Energy packs aren't too bad for a non-liquid option to supplement.
I do agree that in a pinch, watered down Gatorade works about as good as anything.

I just started this with both of my softball daughters. My oldest is a 16yr old SS that never comes out. She says she can tell a big difference as the day goes on. My youngest is a 12 yr old that catches the majority of our games. She caught a bunch over the last 2 days in 104 degrees and didn’t experience the high level of fatigue or headaches that typically go with it. We always start hydrating several days before but the liquid iv and body armors have been the ticket.

I have really liked the body armor drinks they seem to actually quinch my thirst.
Thought about buying some Sqwincher single serves and give them a try to. Body armours are just hard to find and usually have to order 12 packs online. Got tired of drinking Gatorade.
everything else is just marketing juice
