I’m a new member to TBH and haven’t learned

My sons haven’t got to hunt out there yet
We have some nice young bucks that need more

Great buck - congrats on a nice bow kill.

We hunted some on a place we had last year SW of Moran in Callahan.
We had a couple bucks that looked a lot like that and never connected.

Hearing some reports that the rut may be kicking off a little earlier than normal. Not what I was hoping for as I'm not out until the 20th. Anybody confirm/deny these reports?

Can confirm, pre-rut is on in Shackelford County.

Yes - if you hunt Shackelford, you should be in the woods this AM. (I’m at the office!)
Reports are the bucks are going nuts.

Maybe the cold front tomorrow night will kick them off again Friday AM.

Slow for us in Southern Callahan County...rattled in a small six point this evening, and no sightings this morning.

We are having fun and eating well, but hoping the action picks up tomorrow morning.

Slow in Coleman County
My son did see a really nice buck pushing some does Saturday evening so maybe the rut is fixing to start. He was bow hunting and couldn’t get a shot.

Lots of young bucks chasing this morning near Moran. Had 5 does in front of me and they got pushed around all morning. Nice and cool. Did not see any mature deer tho.
Anyone see any big deer today in Callahan or. Shackelford?

Was at a buddy's place outside Coleman on Saturday. We saw 7 different bucks chasing does.
