Enjoyed a couple days Monday/Tuesday in Shackleford Cnty with my boys hunting management bucks. My oldest son Easton took this nice 8 the first morning hunt within view of a couple other management deer that were shooters. We spent the rest of the hunt trying to get a shot at one of the other bucks in this area of the ranch for my younger son Huntley to no avail. Had a great time and can’t wait to do it again.

That’s a wrap for our antlered buck season. Dad and I both had a great season, and the work/preparation for next season begins tomorrow.

We didn’t take a deer in Coleman County this year. We saw several nice young bucks but let walk. We really didn’t see that many doe so we didn’t take any. Just bought the place last year and plan on doing some predator control to maybe get the fawn survival higher.

I'll bump this to add that I'd be interested in a lease close to Abilene for deer and/or just ducks for 2021/22. I am keeping my Hill Country lease, so deer isn't necessary. I'd sure like to find a place to hunt ducks close to Abilene though. If you know of anything, give me a shout, please.
