How close can you get to the water with this tree stand? That sounds like fun! Bait him up and shoot him with your bow from the tree!!

Just kidding, but the drone idea sounds like your best way of scouting to see if he is even in there.

I was sitting in a tripod down near the Trinity River one time and a big ol' gator crawled up out of one little creek, walked right under my stand and slid back off into some backwater from another creek... It was an awesome sight. And it was about the strangest thing I've seen walk by while sitting on stand hunting too!

Not really planning on hunting him out of a tree but you never know

To get photos:Build a feeder box(feeding station) and tied down dead hogs as bait. Then put out a couple of trail cams. Doesn't have to be in the water just close by, big gators will travel up on land at night when they smell something to eat.

That sounds Tarzan style, except he did not put moccasins on, been a long time since I have watched those old Tarzan shows.

Sounds like you have some experience.

Put a 20' climbing stick on a water oak on the edge of the swamp

Saw one gator about 6-8' I would guess

Grass and lilly pads are super thick

Found a nook that some clear water gets up closer to the bank. Downloaded some alligator sounds to the foxpro and will go back next weekend and see if I can get one to show itself with a call

Nothing calls east tx gators better than the squall of a dying pig. That's the gator dinner bell.
