I have done it in Georgia. It took us 6 years to draw non resident tags. Had to snag/catch them first, get them as close as possible then shoot with a handgun only. We lost quite a few, but it was fun. No baited hook allowed in Georgia. We scanned the banks at dusk and judged the size of the gators by the width of their eyes. Cast and snagged 'em. Baited hook is your best bet.

      Step 1 - Find gator
Step 2 - Put your mocassins on
Step 3 - Sneak up on gator
Step 4 - Put knife in your mouth
Step 5 - Jump on his back and enjoy the ride

        Brian,

Would be happy to see your situation and help you with a game plan to catch the gator. Different circumstances call for setting a line differently. I would wait til May to try for the gator, it will be more active.

I have all the gear you will need. We caught two small ones 8-9’ here last season.
Caught tons of big gators in FL. one year 30 gators averaged 11’ 6”.

Looking forward to the crappie get together

              Texas women!!!

We shot both ours with a 410 slug and it was lights out. By far the most exhilarating hunt Ive ever experienced. Even more than a screaming elk

Well I have had zero luck spotting anything in that swamp

Thick brush and trees up to waters edge, marsh/flag grass, waist high grass, solid lilly pads on any open water, etc

Trying to see if anyone I know has a drone to scout it with now

You might hang a couple chicken leg quarters without hooks in front of a couple trail cameras.

I shot a pig out in that mess about 2 weeks ago. Was down there trying to spot a lizard and a herd of pigs showed up and cut across so I blasted one. Got lucky when they cut through a place where the grass was not so high

Gator got a free meal and no way I would have trudged out there to recover or place trail camera

Hear if you dangle your worm with a 20$ bill taped to the end at a flying j’s truck stop you can catch a bunch of lizards.

If he's only spending $20, the lizard ain't all he'll catch

Can't wait to see this gator if its as big as they say it is.

Well I am curious to see if it is as big as I was told too

Maybe this weekend I can slip down there and looks some more. Thinking about hanging a tree stand as high as I can get up in an oak close to water and maybe spot it.
