Wanted to see if you guys could help me with a few questions, any help appreciated!:
1) I fed my new hives about 1 gallon of 1:1 sugar water when I put them in...should I continue feeding them when I check the hive next, or is the spring nectar flow enough to keep them well fed right now?
2) How often do you break in and inspect your hives?
3) Do you have any literature/printouts/charts that show the yearly nectar flow periods (and more specifically, for East Texas)?
4) How bad are the mites/beetles in East Texas, and do you recommend using regular mite treatments at any specific times of the year? My hives are in full sun FYI

How many swarms have yall seen come out of one hive? There was atleast 3 maybe 4 that came out of one of my hives, I looked into it and found 4 more Queen cells. That potentially is at least 7 swarms. I was able to catch 2 of those swarms and one from another hive. Been a good week for beekeeping.
