Both shot in Big Lake - we had a nice herd running around for years. My last one was 26” inside spread…

I've often thought about looking for land around big lake, just for the potential mule deer opportunities.

Seems like there are some nice ones there too

I’m not sure how far east along the i10 corridor, but I can tell you the panhandle I’ve seen them as far east as Highway 6 between Quanah and Crowell.

as for Pronghorn, there was a nice herd in Runnels county on the section of land in the northwest quadrant of where US 277 & FM 153
intersect just a bit west of Winters.

Do you thing this one is part whitetail? That face looks more like the shape one one to me. Maybe just the picture lighting?

No - we thought potentially the same thing. He was 100% MD…

A hybrid may would still have a muley looking tail and a whitetail looking face...potentially

Previously had a lease that was in SE Sterling county and Irion county, We would occasionally see a lone mule deer doe. Found out later that there was a ranch south of us in Irion county that has a mule deer herd.

I've heard of mulies around Lake Amistad. Not legal to hunt mule deer there though.

I can confirm that it is 100% true. J.D. Sauer of The Trophy Room Taxidermy Studio in Tyler mounted the deer.
