Springer thought he hit a home run and celebrated/jogged when he should have been sprinting. Tucker still scored so it doesn't matter how close to catching him Springer would have gotten. The result of the play had Springer sprinted out of the box would be been an RBI triple with a runner on 3rd. Instead he jogged out of the box and got an RBI double and ended up on second. Altuve then hit what would could have been a game tying sac fly, but since Springer jogged and was on second base, Altuve gets a worthless F9. Its the little things that add up in baseball. Sometimes they don't cost you anything, sometimes they do and this one did.

Being one of the best teams at baseball the past 3-4 years has absolutely zero relevance for this year and it dang sure doesn't relieve you of having to hustle when you get to the World Series. I guarantee if you asked Springer if in hindsight he should have been sprinting out of the box, he would undoubtedly say yes.
      Correct

If Verlander doesn’t start out any better then he has his last two starts the Astros are in trouble.

If we want to talk about woulda coulda shoulda, there is no guarantee that the Nationals' pitcher pitches to Altuve with a runner on third the same as he did with a runner on second....therefore possibly not guaranteeing a pop fly. Sure it sounds good on paper but assuming things are going to play out exactly as they no matter what Springer did is just good for fan fodder.

Did Tucker mess up base running? Absolutely, he should of been hanging out half way.

Is there anyway possible that if springer is busting it out of the box he catches tucker to where he is forced to stop at second? Absolutely No chance.
If there was a chance of that happening that means that there should of been a play on Tucker at the plate and he scored without a throw.

I understand that he got caught up in the moment but that is a triple all day everyday for George if he is busting it out of the box. Especially with where their CF threw the ball. There would of been no play at third.

Shoulda coulda woulda.... if Wash had subd for Cruz in game 6..... Brantly and Springer are some of the biggest studs on the team but lil missteps and miscues get exacerbated in the WS. Its greatness and insanity all in one, and only depends on which side of the ball your on

Screw analytics. MLB bought rawlings, rawlings winds them tighter, tighter balls go farther, farther hit balls make homers, Homers sell seats, MLB gets ROI on its rawlings investment. Pretty darn simple

I thought the same exact thing. Come to find out that theory isn’t quite panning out like it was envisioned. Won’t get into the details but I have a good buddy with two rings that explained the whole effed up situation to me.

                          Just not true..

If he’s busting it out of the box then he hast to slow down to wait on Tucker… There was no throw because they cut it, it was going to third…

                          I’m done with this.

By your explanation, he should have had a **** inside park homerun.

If springer has to slow down for tucker and tucker is able to score than springer should have been able to score. Hell the fly ball by altuve doesn’t really mean anything then. Thanks for proving that springer should have been hustling out of the box

Weird, Trea Turner had to slide to catch the ball between second and first like the CF was throwing it home. They must of moved third base recently.

Springer is already stopped turned around headed back to 2nd by the time the cutoff man gets the ball, after jogging out of the box for a ways. If you can’t see that this is an easy triple is he’s hustling, I can’t help you any more
