I made many a trip from Troup to Ballinger on a Friday night. Get there at midnight, get up at five, hunt Saturday am and pm, and Sunday until 10 and go home. Five and a half to six hour drive one way depending on traffic. Did it for eighteen years, but won’t do it again though.

I drive 100 miles to my main hunting property. I drive there often for only 2 sits. My other spot near Throckmorton is 382 miles and I will only go if I can get 5 sits.

I will drive to the lease (5.5) hours for 3 sits if it’s what I have to do ( doing it youth weekend) but would rather take off work on a Friday

I'll be doing a little over 8 hours, for 3 sits later this year. I can do 4 but it will put me driving home half of the night. But it is South Texas, and I only get to do it once a year.

Its 324 miles 1 way for me.. How far I drive for 3 sits depends on the conditions and deer activity.. I wont drive 10 miles for 10 sits in 95 degree heat..

I quit being that mad at them years ago..

Now if the conditions are right I'll make that 324 mile drive for 2 sits..

Longest I've driven for 3 sits is about 265 miles out to our Brackettville ranch. Normally I try to go for a minimum or 3-4 days (6-7 sits) but when my dad calls and says big axis are hitting the feeders daily, you sometimes have to change plans and make it work.
