Local building supply shops should have some windows in stock that would work for deer stands. Travel trailer/camper windows could work as well. Or, you can make your own.
Am I understanding that you waited until the week before bow season starts with everybody else and wonder why there is a month wait on deer blind windows and are upset about said wait?
There being a wait makes perfect sense to me. Everybody and their dog waits till the last minute to “get ready/build blinds” and buys everything they have made in stock. They sell out of what they thought they needed in stock and now have to replace inventory. It happens
I ordered in March last year and got them in a week.
Sarcasm duly noted. I've been properly shamed for procrastinating. I'm glad you got yours done in March... my previous blind had not yet been destroyed at that point. But no, I did not indicate that I am wondering why they are busy. I've got a pretty good grasp on the concept of supply and demand.
Dismissing the issue as being a bad practice on the part of the consumer doesn't change the bottom line business consideration that all of my previous windows have come from there but now I am now evaluating multiple competitors that I was previously unaware of. Supply and demand here is an equation that the supplier has to guess correctly, not the consumer. God bless capitalism!
You are not wrong.
If Smart can figure out they will run out of stock because hunters procrastinate then maybe the company that's been around a few years could figure it out and build a better inventory. But that would require a few minutes of thought I guess

I really hate procrastinators also.. Ask my kids
Hence my reference to possible capacity and assets limitations.
I have no link to the company other than a customer. I just think it’s funny when somebody comes on here gritching about a wait time in a company’s busiest time of the year. It’s like taking your bow in on Sept 30th to be fixed, restrung or tuned and coming in here gritching about the bow shops customer service because they can’t get it back to you before 10/1. Should they “figure out” how to expand their shop for one month a year or keep what works for 11 months out of the year and have some wait times if needed during their busiest times.
Or gritching about Academy’s line at the license machine on August 30th[emoji23][emoji23]

This right here. Other companies have them in stock.
I ordered from them 1 time and it wasn't a good experience so I haven't again. I'm with the crowd that thinks they should plan better. If they have a 2 month busy season they should spend the other 10 months preparing better for it. After a year or two in the business you get a "feel" for what you need. If it's standard size stuff that they stock anyway I would rather have over-stock than run out before deer season even opens. The one time I ordered from them it was mid Summer and I kept waiting and waiting for the windows to show up. I finally called them and asked if there was a problem and was told "No, they are sitting here". Asked why they weren't shipped yet and was told "Not sure but I'll try to ship them this week". First and last order from me. I bet if the money didn't clear until the product shipped the lead time would shrink.

It's 100% different in both cases you mention. They can't tune bows they don't have and Academy can't sell you a license until you come in.
In this thread the company can make and stock more windows during the slow time of the year. No one's asking them to buy a 100,000 sq/ft warehouse. Heck a 200 sq/ft closet may be big enough. And if they're selling THAT many windows where a small space isn't big enough then that really makes my point.

Wrong....Which takes us back to the procrastination factor. The whole reason for my original post and they are all very much 100% comparable in that aspect.

May be big enough? I think the point is you have no idea what their storage capacity is, if they are already producing at full capacity in the offseason to get them built up plus also keep their custom side rolling, nor the capital it would take to increase their assets to make more and store more. Then there is the dreaded inventory taxes if not sold. But again, I don't either....which is why the onus is on the procrastinator . And yes he has many more choices....which he should take advantage of...
I just ordered some deerview windows back at the beginning of August and the lead time was clearly stated on the home page. It’s visible before you get to the ordering. At the time it was a 4 week lead time and they shipped right on time.
