We are 20 miles NE of Rocksprings off 55. Three years ago the club brought down more than 25 nice ones. But, the last two years only a few. We speculated LO involvement.

Yeah we are right next to the big cellphone tower. We thought the area was going to be loaded with them. Turns out they are few and far between. I guess we can’t complain though with the WT. I’m hoping the axis will
        Come around more often

Axis have moved up into the Eldorado/Christoval area south of San Angelo. Tom Green, Concho, and Schleicher Counties are producing some monster free-range axis. The one in my avatar is free-range and was taken near the Tom Green/Concho county line.

              Axis Deer Range in Texas

General area with holes throughout it.
Maybe extend it a little further west along I-10.

Also not sure why it’s loading so large

We still do fine with the WT hunting. Most of the time they mix together without any problems. The axis can be a problem when they show up 20-30 strong and push the WT off. Axis don’t tend to stay at the feeder as long and they don’t show up every sit. It’s nice to be able to go arrow one for meat when you need it. I actually stuck a clunker buck last week.
