Junior, How are you enjoying that grill? I just pulled the trigger on a 700 last night!

I’m loving it. I’ve done ribs, pork butts, pork chops, steaks, chicken, nachos and even pizzas.
I love it. So much easier than the old stick burner and the flavor is not exactly the same, but it’s still good.

My neighbor has had two of them and swears by them. He just bought the RT-700, and loves it. I bought his old Pit Boss and have been happy with it so far. I've only smoked once on it. I primarily use mine for grilling. If you use it all the time, I think it's worth the extra cash to buy the Rec Tec. I have the top of the line pit boss, and his Rec Tec is still better.

I had a few grills and one big problem. Where I live now I do not live in a constant climate and rarely manage to cook normally on the grill.

At the moment, I'm in the middle of a renovation process in my kitchen. I now have the option of adding a built-in grill to my plan. Will this one be much worse or the same? I look at similar models.

But you can get just the pit for
            $1,200
There’s several different packages to choose from. I just got the emailed that it shipped out today.

So, how do you like the REC TEC. You never gave us an update. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a RT-590.

They sell different sizes too, so you have options and different price ranges.

Which of the add on accessories do I need to buy with the 590?

Which ones do you not use?

I would buy the outdoor cover, sear bars and the extra rack.

After reading the comments, I went ahead and ordered the 590. Most accessories were out of stock so will have to keep watching the site.

I've been looking at these pellet grills. I have a big green egg, a offset smoker, a weber kettle and a gas grill that's on its last leg.

I use the gas grill for weekday cooks when I dont feel like dealing with charcoal, etc. Can a pellet grill replace a gas grill for convenience and regular use? How long do they take to heat up to grilling temps?

I bought a Pit Boss about a month a go and threw away my gas grill. The pellet grill can do everything the gas grill can and some. I’ve cooked wings, burgers, steaks, pork butts, beer butt chickens, and pork bellies so far. My pit boss has a slide that allows you to go from indirect heat to direct heat. It comes up to temp within 10 minutes of when I turn it on. I will never buy another gas grill again.

Look at Rec Tecs Bullseye. It’s just about to be out for sale. They had an older version and they made some changes. I’m thinking about getting one to replace my gas grill. It’ll get to temp quicker then the bigger smokers, and can get hotter too

The Rec Tec will replace several of those but I’d keep your egg. The Wi-Fi feature alone allowing you to start it while you’re still doing prep and get it up to temp was a huge selling point for me. I love my 700.

I can’t speak for the Rec Tec but my Pitts & Spitts can get up to grilling temp (450-500) in 10 minutes this time of year and probably 15 minutes in winter.

The thicker steel takes a bit longer to get up to temp, but once it’s there it will hold within 1° on average.
