There are 10 of the best bbq joints in Texas within 30 minutes of me. The trailer in Wimberley has brisket and turkey as good as you can get. There's about 3/4 lb. On the one meat plate for 10 dollars.

      Very "easy". [emoji38]

Dang, I'm 50. So in the near future I'm going to be too old and tired to tend to my smoker all day?[emoji50]

I use my pit these days for more healthy, low fat meats. Chickens, Turkey breast and pork loins. 2-3 hours. Baby backs occassionally when low fat isn't necessary. 5 hours tops. Brisket is just too easy to grab a quick lunch for 10.00 once every couple of weeks.

Living in Goldthwaite buying good brisket is not an option.

Yep I sold my old school offset to buy this. Otherwise I’d never have one.

You can buy one a lot cheaper than 2k. My Rec Tec was 599.00. It is a smaller one since kids are grown and it's just the wife and I. Mine is a model 340. Cooks up to 2 racks of ribs are a brisket up to 12 lbs.

I got it home on Friday and did 2 briskets on Sunday. Pretty friggin awesome. First experiences with any pellet grill and I'm very happy with it. The Yoder is built like a tank.
I been kicking around the idea of one of these pellet grills, my gas grill is about shot, I do have a Primo grill and an electric smoker but for doing briskets and ribs I am thinking the pellet grill would do a better job, plus it looks to be very versatile. The Yoder does look like a very high quality grill, they are expensive, anything else you can share about it ?

I'm totally impressed with my Yoder. My regular gas grill finally died and I decided not to rebuild it again. I had a Kamado Joe, but it just took way too long to get the fire right for impromptu grilling, so I never used it. I wanted to get something that I could use for smoking and direct grilling and the Yoder does just that. I did read that they are notorious for rusting and require some level of upkeep (sanding spots and touch-up painting), but I think that's to be expected.

I am not a big fan of a lot of smoke, nothing worse than belching smoke several hours after eating, how is the smoke ? Strong, mild ? As far as rust I would get the cover plus I would keep it under the patio roof while not using it.

                      The smoke tube isn't necessary.

Oh and you can have all the bark that you want, just don't wrap the brisket...temperature is temperature so stick or pellet you can cook as hot or as cool as you want. The pellet grill is just much easier to control.

So just keep doing what you do, buying meat someone in Wimberley cooked and cooking like you do and don't worry about how others cook their BBQ.

You might get tired tending a pit all day, that never bothered me but my time is worth more these days.

It's a simple thing really, well, maybe not for you.

For those of you asking about the package he bought, that's a LOT of stuff and at a decent price. The only extras that I bought to go with my Bull was the stainless fold up shelf...if you buy anything be sure to get the shelf.

I bought the sear plates off of Amazon a bit cheaper and the same brand.

I'm right there with you. I don't like too much smoke either. To me - it's just right. Some say it's on the lighter side and add a smoke tube.

Lmao. I'll say whatever I **** well please homeboy.

As was stated on the other thread no bbq joints use pellet smokers. There's a reason for that.

                                **** hipsters.
