Man, I am with the city. Lord knows what would happen if the public got their hands, or mouths, on . . . salsa. It would be anarchy! Maroons.

Undocumented salsa! Chaos! Dogs and cats living together! [emoji23]

I got the public info request back.

There was no complaint called in, it was just a case of local government “protecting” people.

Is there a website or link to make a donation to TOKC?

We raised $4500-$5000 at the event. Texas children’s hospital will match the amount, which will go to a specific treatment study. We still have a few things coming in, so we may clear $5,000. That match from TCH bringing it to a 10k total would be a cool deal for sure.

As far as all this business, The city didn’t show up, but it was all them that initiated the deal.

I received some information back from my public request. They sent one email, and a BS “timeline” constructed from conversations with my wife and I.

I still just can’t believe they would waste time on this type of event.

Oh well. Now I’m off to transfer a title on my used boat that will require another sales tax payment to the government. For them doing practically nothing but justifying their own existence and giving me a “good boy” sticker to put on the side of the boat.

I’m sure rules may be different in Corpus than here in San Antonio but I was president of a local youth soccer league for years and had a similar issue. City Parks staff was helpful about giving me the work around. We could sell food and do at our games held on city fields we lease as long as it was not sold to the public. It could only be sold to our members of the league. Of course we didn’t ask anyone if they are members. Maybe some way to make everyone that attends your event a member. Just a thought.

this entire story is insane. some changes definitely need to be made. glad to hear yall were able to raise so much! I am sure that money will go a long way to hell with the tax collectors trying to penny pinch everything!
